Listening to amaarae – Sundays ft Fingers

Hey,

I hope you’re well!

How was your weekend? Part of mine consisted of wine and reading The Boron Letters by Gary C Halbert. And even though I’m just 5/25 into it, I suspect it’ll be the 3rd book in my list of books to read every year which I started in 2016 (currently only has the books Alchemist and The Power of Positive Thinking). Anyway, chapter 3 talks about depending on yourself and immediately, one of my favorite quotes came to mind👇🏾

A woman who is self-reliant, positive, optimistic and undertakes her work with assurance of success magnetizes her condition. She draws to herself the creative powers of the universe

Orison Swett Marden

Side note : I’ve been wondering whether you’d like being introduced as sunnies or sundies? It’s been 6 months and I still haven’t found a bomb name to introduce you by. And since I’m not too ashamed to ask for help, kindly drop your choice and or suggestions in the comment box below.

Side side note : Self-reliance doesn’t mean refusing or admitting you need help when you clearly do! That’s not adulting, that’s just your ego in the way. Ok…enough with the sides, let’s get back to the main.

Ever since I came across this phrase a few years ago, I told myself I wanted to live by every word in that quote (still do), but as we all probably know by now, talk is cheap. You have to walk that walk, and for me that meant starting by being self -reliant. However, it gets tricky because you need to learn how to balance that with being open to help when you’re in need.

It’s a good day!

Cheers,
